Eminent literary Gaurahari Das will receive the Sharla Award in October
He will receive the award for his short "Bagha" and other stories published by Timepass Publications in 2018.
Bhubaneswar: Eminent Odiyan fiction writer and Central Sahitya Akademi awardee Dr Gaurahari Das has been selected to receive the 43rd edition of the prestigious Sharla Award this year.
He will receive the award for his short “Bagha” and other stories published by Timepass Publications in 2018.
On October 26, on behalf of IMFA Charitable Trust, the said award given to Dr Gaurahari Das. He will be given a certificate and along with an amount of Rs 5 lakh cash.
Apart from this, prominent London-based painter and writer Prafulla Mohanty and Odissi music guru Ghanshyam Panda will be honored with the ‘Ila Bansidhar Panda Art Honor’ for their valuable contribution in the field of art and music respectively. Both will get a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh and a certificate.
However, in the year 1980 of the annual Sharla Award Founded by, the prominent Odiyan craftsman Dr. Bansidhar Panda and his wife Ila Panda. The Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT) has since been consistently awarding distinguished individuals for excellence in odia literature.
