Fatal Cable Bridge accident in Morbi, Gujarat. death has reached 133, 9 people arrested

Morbi: A state-wide mourning has been announced due to the fatal cable bridge accident in Morbi, Gujarat. The state government has announced that there will be statewide mourning on November 2, meaning tomorrow. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel tweeted that the decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar.

The national flag will be flown tomorrow on all the government official building. No public or private celebrations, parties or events of any kind will be organised. I appeal to the people of the entire state to pray for the peace of the souls of the dead,” the Chief Minister said in his tweet.

It is reported that Prime Minister Modi will visit Morbi in Gujarat today. 2 lakh ex-gratia amount has been announced from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to the families of the deceased. Similarly, Rs 50,000 has been announced to the family of the injured.

The death toll in the fatal cable bridge accident in Morbi, Gujarat is increasing. The search and rescue work of the administration is still going on.

It is worth noting that the death toll in this accident on Sunday has reached 133, while the police have arrested 9 people in this incident so far.
