Navy’s ‘MiG 29K’ fighter jet crashes off Goa coast; The pilot came out safely

New Delhi: Today, while returning to Ghati from a regular flight, a MiG-29K fighter jet of the Indian Navy crashed into the Arabian Sea off the coast of Goa due to a technical fault.
The Indian Navy said that the pilot of the said aircraft was safely ejected from the crashed aircraft and his condition is stable.
Immediately after the accident, a search and rescue operation was launched.
A spokesperson of the Indian Navy also said that a ‘Board of Inquiry’ has been ordered to investigate the cause of the accident.

In 2020, Indian Navy pilot Nishant Singh died when a MiG-29K fighter jet crashed in the Arabian Sea.
Earlier, 2 MiG-29 fighter jets crashed on February 23, 2020 and November 16, 2019. Similarly, India’s first MiG-19K fighter jet crashed in 2018.
