Poverty in India: During this period Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh have seen the greatest reduction in poverty. The Niti Commission has developed the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) by evaluating it through improvements in health, education and standard of living.

Poverty in India: After the release of the report, Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded on social media platforms saying that we will continue to work towards ensuring inclusive development and a prosperous future for every Indian.
