High-rise train to run in India, trial run begins

New Delhi: The Central Railway Ministry is conducting various types of inspections on Vande Bharat trains. The ministry is planning to run a 7.2 meter high-rise train. Now the experimental running of this type of train is being done on the Delhi-Jaipur line. The height of this train is 7.2 meters. As a result, it is called the highest train in the world. In this regard, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw tweeted and shared a video of the said train.

High-rise trains are equipped with high-rise pantographs (devices that connect the train with electric wires). The height of conventional electric trains is 4.5 meters above the railway line and the height of the electric wires above the ground is up to 6.2 meters. But the height of electric wire is 6.8 meters or more on the high-rise locomotive or train route. High rise pantograph is used for this. With this system, high-altitude trains can run faster.

India’s Western Corridor has facilities for high-rise trains. In this corridor, the electric wires are at a height of 7.2 meters for the running of double-decker container trains.
