The name of UPA will be changed in the meeting to be held in Bengaluru

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) opposition party will no longer be called the United Progress Alliance (UPA). The new name of the party is likely to be decided at the mega opposition meeting to be held in Bengaluru on Tuesday. Sources have informed that more than 20 teams will participate.

The Congress-led UPA was in power at the Center for two terms from 2004 to 2014. It was presided over by former Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

In relation to this new name, Congress general secretary K. C. Venugopal said, “The party is not taking a decision on this issue alone.” A collective decision will be taken in the meeting.’

“We will take all kinds of decisions,” Venugopal said in a press conference. I can’t say now what is going to be discussed. Congress does not take decisions alone. All the opposition parties will sit together and take a decision together.’

However, the opposition is expected to raise the issue of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge is expected to start the meeting on Tuesday. A joint press conference is scheduled to be held after the meeting at 4 pm.
